Agricultural Crop Insurance

Insured Parties:

Agricultural crop insurance is intended for agricultural producers, either individuals or legal entities, who operate within the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and own, lease, or hold by any legal right the lands that can be insured.

Object of Insurance:

The object of the insurance consists of the financial interests related to the harvest of agricultural crops and agricultural goods in civil circulation, which by law are not subject to restrictions or prohibitions.

The following can be insured: Harvests of agricultural crops; Harvests of perennial plantations; Fruit and vine nurseries.

Insured Risks:

The insurance protection extends to the following risks: Excessive drought, Hail, Floods, Temperatures below the biological resistance threshold of plants, Storms, and other unusual natural events for the respective locality.

The company "MOLDASIG" S.A. can conclude contracts for agricultural crop insurance under the conditions of the following insurance packages:

“Technological Expenses” Package – the insured amount corresponds to direct expenses incurred according to the agreed technological budget;
“Standard” Package – the insured amount represents the cost of the harvest on the insured area;
“Standard Plus” Package – the insured amount is the sum of the expected harvest cost for consumption and the expected harvest cost for processing;
“Small and Medium Farmers” Package – the insured amount is the cost of the harvest per hectare, which is fixed and cannot be modified.

Insurance for Perennial Plantations:

Insured Parties:
Insurance for perennial plantations is intended for any agricultural producer in the Republic of Moldova, whether an individual or a legal entity, who operates a piece of land where they have established a perennial plantation.

Object of Insurance:
Vineyards and fruit plantations can be insured: apple orchards, pear orchards, plum orchards, apricot orchards, walnut plantations, peach plantations, etc.

Insured Risks:
The insurance covers the following risks: Hail, Temperatures below the biological resistance threshold of plants (Winter frost), Flooding (river overflow), Mass pest attacks, etc.

Insurance for Agricultural Equipment and Machinery:

Insured Parties:
This insurance is intended for individuals or legal entities that own self-propelled vehicles and/or machinery towed or carried by them.

Object of Insurance:
Tractors with wheels and crawler tractors, self-propelled harvesters for crop harvesting, excavators, electric forklifts, machines and equipment for spraying, fertilizing, drying, and cleaning seeds, complex machinery powered by a tractor’s PTO, seeders, cultivators, plows, harrows, disc harrows, mowers, tractor trailers, fruit harvesting platforms, irrigation systems, hail protection systems, greenhouses and tunnels, and other similar equipment.

Insured Risks:
The equipment and machinery are insured against destruction or damage caused by fire, uncontrolled burning, road accidents, overturning, natural disasters, accidents during storage and operation, falling or hitting foreign objects, damage from illegal actions by third parties, including the risk of theft.

Insurance for Domestic Animals (Birds)

Insured Parties:
Insurance for domestic animals (birds) is available for producers of animal-origin products in the Republic of Moldova, including individuals who own animals in households or legal entities managing zootechnical farms.

Object of Insurance:
The following livestock can be insured:

Cattle;
Sheep and Goats;
Pigs;
Working animals (horses, donkeys);
Birds;
Beehives.

Insured Risks:

The insurance covers the following risks: Loss (death) of animals or birds due to natural disasters, diseases, accidents, forced slaughter (as required) by a veterinarian or the National Food Safety Agency.
