Is the insurance policy valid in electronic format?
Yes, in the Republic of Moldova, the RCA insurance policy in electronic format is valid and recognized. According to the current legislation, the RCA insurance policy can be issued and sent to the insured in electronic format. -
What should I do if my vehicle is not found or the price has not been set?
The calculation and issuance of the policy based on the registration certificate or license plate number can only be done for vehicles registered in the Republic of Moldova. If the vehicle cannot be identified or the price has not been set, please contact us here. -
If the insured person is a legal entity, how will I receive the invoice?
The invoice will be sent through efactura.sfs.md. If your company is not registered for e-invoices, it will be sent via email, electronically signed. -
What does property and content insurance entail?
Property and content insurance involves optional insurance for real estate (house, apartment, etc.) and other belongings (furniture, equipment, finishes, etc.) against risks such as: fire, explosion, damage to communication systems, flooding, unlawful actions of third parties, natural phenomena, falls of piloted aircraft, and others.

What does the deductible mean?
The deductible is specified in the insurance contract and represents a limit below which the insurer is not liable. It is a component of the insurance contract whereby the insured contributes to the compensation, typically applied in cases of insignificant damages. Changing the deductible can affect the reduction of the insurance premium. The deductible is, in all cases, deducted from the value of the damages. It can be set as a percentage of the insured amount or as an absolute value.

Yes, because these changes may affect the level of risk – particularly regarding gasification and the presence of fireplaces that could lead to fire hazards.

Yes, it is possible, but the insurance conditions and the contract signing procedure differ from ordinary cases. In such instances, additional documents are required to confirm the value of these items, detailed descriptions, photographs, as well as verification of their storage conditions. To conclude an insurance contract, you need to present documents that verify your identity, property interest, ownership rights to the items (right of possession and disposition), the insurance application, and documents indicating the value of the items to be insured.

Is it mandatory to evaluate the household items I wish to insure, even if I am unlikely to have the payment documents from the past?
Describing the items is necessary when insuring an apartment or house because, in the event of an insured incident, you won't need to prove that the stolen television existed and was worth 700 US dollars. We will also take photographs and describe these items.

What factors influence the price of insurance?
The price of insurance is influenced by several factors. If the house is older and has not been repaired for a long time, the insurance premium may be higher. The price may also increase if there are wooden walls or if the apartment is located on the ground floor, which may be due to the lack of bars. On the other hand, if there are alarms or metal doors, the price will be lower.

What are the restrictions that prevent property insurance?
Apartments in buildings scheduled for demolition will not be insured; apartments that are subject to confiscation, seizure, or demolition by decision of public authorities, as well as old buildings (with more than 75% wear) will not be insured.

What risks can be insured?

What happens when the insured value is increased?
The insured value of the property indicated in the contract can be contested by the Insurer if they have been misled and the property has not been properly assessed. In this case, the insurance contract may be declared invalid. -
How does the Insured respond in the case of deliberate actions that led to the occurrence of the insured event?
Intentional actions by the Insured or Beneficiary that caused the insured event and the receipt of compensation will be considered fraud and will fall under the provisions of the Criminal Code. -
If the insurance company has compensated the Insured, is the guilty party released from liability for committing the insured event?
No, they are not. According to the Civil Code of the Republic of Moldova, damages caused to individuals and legal entities will be fully covered by the guilty party. After the insurance compensation is made, the insurer gains the right to file claims against the party responsible for the damage. The guilty party will still bear responsibility, but not to the Insured, but to the Insurer.
