Liability insurance for aircraft owners and air carriers

SA "MOLDASIG" concludes civil liability insurance contracts for third parties in accordance with the "Conditions of Voluntary Civil Liability Insurance for Aircraft Owners and Air Carriers" and based on the legislation of the Republic of Moldova with individuals or legal entities (Insured).

The insured objects include:

• Aircraft owners with property rights, economic use, or operational management, or on another legal basis (lease, transfer of the aircraft into use under an official order, etc.).
• Operators of state and/or experimental aviation aircraft based on other documents issued by competent authorities in the prescribed form, allowing such operation and use of aircraft on legal grounds.
• Those who have received or are receiving, in the manner established by law, and issued by authorized bodies:

1. certificate of aircraft operator (commercial or general aviation);
2. license for the right to carry out passenger, baggage, cargo, and mail transportation under air transport contracts;
3. license for the right to perform aerial work to meet the needs of individuals or legal entities.

The insured object represents the Insured's property interests related to their obligation, as stipulated by civil law, to compensate for damages caused to the life, health, or property of injured persons during the operation of the aircraft specified in the insurance contract, during the transportation of passengers, baggage, cargo, and mail, or while performing aerial work.

Civil liability of aircraft owners and air carriers covers the following risks:

 

• Damage to third parties (excluding passengers and cargo owners): This covers the Insured's liability for damages caused to third parties due to an aircraft accident during its operation or during aerial work, resulting in harm to life and health and/or destruction or damage to property (including animal loss).
• Damage to passengers: This covers the Insured's liability for damages caused to passengers during an accident in the air transportation of passengers, baggage, and mail or during aerial work, occurring during the insurance period.
• Damage to cargo owners: This covers the Insured's liability for damages caused to cargo owners due to an accident in the air transportation of cargo and mail or during aerial work, occurring during the insurance period, leading to destruction (loss), shortage, or damage to cargo or mail.
