An accident is an unforeseen, spontaneous event as a result of which the insured person has suffered an injury, leading to loss of work capacity (temporary or permanent) or death.
Accidents include:
- Frostbite, burns (thermal, chemical), drowning, electric shock, lightning strike
- Asphyxiation caused by accidental inhalation of a foreign object in the respiratory tract
- Injuries sustained at home or at the workplace
- Bites from insects or venomous snakes
- Acute accidental poisoning with chemicals and their components
- Anaphylactic shock
Insured Risks:
- Temporary loss of work capacity by the Insured Person.
- Permanent loss of work capacity by the Insured Person, with assignment of a disability degree.
- Death of the Insured Person as a result of an accident.
In case one of the insured risks specified in the Insurance Contract (during its validity period) occurs with the Insured Person, the following actions must be taken:
- Within 24 hours of the accident, contact a medical institution for an objective assessment of the health damage and obtain a medical certificate confirming the accident.
- Within 3 days from the date of the damage to life and health, inform the Insurer about the incident by presenting the following documents (in original or legalized copies) to the Central Office of MOLDASIG, Claims Adjustment Department (Eminescu St. 2):
- Insurance indemnity request form.
- Insurance policy and Insurance Contract.
- Identity documents.
- Medical documents confirming the occurrence of the accident, treatment duration, and temporary incapacity for work.
- Conclusion from the institution established by the legislation of the Republic of Moldova regarding the degree of disability.
- Documents confirming inheritance rights (for the heir of the Insured Person).
- Other documents related to the circumstances of the insured event mentioned in the Insurance Contract.
