Agricultural Risk Insurance

What can be insured:

Crop harvests

For agricultural producers who farm the insured land and own it, lease it or use it under another legal right. Crop harvests, perennial plantation harvests, and fruit and vine nurseries can be insured against the following risks:

• excessive drought;
• hail;
• floods;
• temperatures below the plants’ biological resistance threshold;
• storms;
• other natural events unusual for the area.

Contracts are concluded under one of the following packages:

• “Technological Expenses”: the sum insured is the direct expenses under the technological budget agreed by both parties;
• “Standard”: the sum insured is the value of the harvest on the insured area;
• “Standard Plus”: the sum insured is the value of the harvest expected for consumption plus the harvest expected for processing;
• “Small and Medium Farmers”: the sum insured is the value of the harvest per hectare, fixed and not adjustable.

Perennial plantations

For any agricultural producer, individual or legal entity, farming land on which a perennial plantation has been established. Vineyards and orchards (apple, pear, plum, apricot, walnut, peach and others) can be insured against the following risks:

• hail;
• temperatures below the plants’ biological resistance threshold (winter frost);
• flooding (rivers overflowing);
• mass pest attacks.

Farm machinery and equipment

For individuals and legal entities that own self-propelled machinery and the implements it carries or tows. The following can be insured:

• wheeled and crawler tractors, combine harvesters, self-propelled excavators, electric forklifts;
• sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, and seed drying and cleaning machines;
• seeders, cultivators, plows, harrows, disc harrows, mowers and other implements driven by the tractor’s power take-off;
• tractor trailers and fruit harvesting platforms;
• irrigation systems, hail protection systems, greenhouses and tunnels.

Machinery and equipment are insured against destruction or damage caused by:

• fire;
• road accidents and overturning;
• natural disasters;
• accidents during storage and operation;
• falling or impact of foreign objects;
• unlawful acts of third parties, including theft.
