Moldovan Art in the Heart of Vienna: MOLDASIG Celebrates a Moment of International Visibility for the Republic of Moldova
This summer, the Republic of Moldova is being placed in the spotlight in the heart of Vienna through a large-scale cultural project supported by Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, the main shareholder of Vienna Insurance Group. The Ringturm building, the Group’s headquarters, has been transformed into an artistic installation of approximately 4,000 m², created by Moldovan artist Pavel Brăila.

The artwork, titled “Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands”, was officially unveiled on 25 June 2026 in the presence of high-ranking representatives from Moldova and Austria, as well as members of the diplomatic, business and cultural communities. The event celebrates contemporary Moldovan art and the strong relations between the two countries, built on partnership and shared values.

For MOLDASIG, part of Vienna Insurance Group, this moment confirms its place within a European context in which insurance means not only financial protection but also social responsibility and cultural dialogue.

Ringturm – a symbol of dialogue between Vienna and Chișinău

Since 2006, the artistic wrapping of the Ringturm building has been one of the most visible cultural projects of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, bringing together works by artists from Austria and from the countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe where the Group is present.

In 2026, this platform is dedicated to the Republic of Moldova. The selection of Pavel Brăila represents an appreciation of Moldova’s creative potential and an invitation to discover our cultural identity in a highly visible European space.
The installation depicts a visual choreography of hand movements associated with the preparation of sarmale, a traditional Moldovan dish. Beyond the culinary gesture, the artwork speaks about memory, belonging and traditions passed down from generation to generation, reflecting the way culture builds bridges between people and communities.

Moldova on the European Stage Through Culture and Partnerships

The unveiling brought together officials, representatives of the economic and cultural sectors, as well as the top management of Vienna Insurance Group, DONARIS and MOLDASIG. The official speeches highlighted the role of investments, economic cooperation and cultural exchange in strengthening Moldovan-Austrian relations, as well as Vienna Insurance Group’s contribution to the development of the local insurance market.
For MOLDASIG, belonging to Vienna Insurance Group provides access to experience, know-how and European standards focused on stability, innovation and long-term customer protection.

MOLDASIG – part of a strong European family

Vienna Insurance Group is the leading insurance group in Central and Eastern Europe, with more than 50 insurance companies and pension funds in 30 countries and over 33 million customers.

Through the acquisition of MOLDASIG, the Group strengthens its position on the Moldovan insurance market, confirming its confidence in the country’s potential and in the development of the local market. MOLDASIG embraces this new chapter responsibly, aiming to modernize insurance services, increase market resilience and strengthen customers’ trust in financial protection solutions.

More than insurance: responsibility, culture and sustainability

The Ringturm project reflects Vienna Insurance Group’s philosophy of supporting initiatives that go beyond purely economic activity, demonstrating that a strong international company can actively contribute to the development of the communities in which it operates.

The sustainability component completes the message: after the exhibition period, the material used for the installation will be transformed into reusable bags, handmade through a social initiative in Vienna. In this way, the artwork will gain a new life, in the spirit of responsibility towards the environment and the community.

A moment of pride for MOLDASIG and the Republic of Moldova

The presence of Moldovan art on the Ringturm building is a moment of pride for Moldova and for the Vienna Insurance Group companies active on the local market. For MOLDASIG, the project symbolizes belonging to a European family that values diversity, supports culture and builds lasting partnerships.

As suggested by the title of Pavel Brăila’s artwork, not only happiness lies in our hands, but also the ability to build bridges between people, cultures and communities. MOLDASIG, as part of Vienna Insurance Group, reaffirms its commitment to contributing to these connections through professionalism, responsibility and trust.
